Cancellation due to Covid-19: A Sea Symphony (21 March) & Come & Sing workshop (4 April)

CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19):
- CONCERT CANCELLATION - A Sea Symphony – Worcester Cathedral, Saturday 21 March 7.30pm
- COME & SING CANCELLATION - The Music Makers - Worcester Cathedral, Saturday 4 April 9.30am-4.45pm
Worcester Festival Choral Society is extremely sad to announce the cancellation of its planned A Sea Symphony concert at Worcester Cathedral on Saturday 21st March at 7.30pm. In addition, its 'Come & Sing' one-day choral workshop on The Music Makers at Worcester Cathedral on Saturday 4 April is also cancelled. All ticket purchasers will receive refunds.
Ben Cooper, Chairman of Worcester Festival Choral Society, said: “We take public health advice with the utmost seriousness, and recognise our duty to each other and our communities, especially those who are vulnerable. It is therefore essential that we follow the Prime Minister’s latest Coronavirus (COVID-19) advice on avoiding social gatherings. Our concert would have gathered more than 500 music lovers, and our Come & Sing at least 150 singers. Due to the cancellations however, we are pleased to confirm that a refund will be given to all ticket purchasers.”
CONCERT REFUNDS:
- If you booked with WFCS online, you will be contacted by TicketSource, the WFCS booking agency, who will give a full refund minus any delivery charges paid. If you opted to make an additional payment online in the event of cancellation you have separate conditions and should apply to the Insurance Company direct (see your booking confirmation for details). TicketSource and WFCS are unable to accept responsibility for this insurance.
- If you booked via Worcester Live (by phone or in person) you will be contacted and offered a full refund.
- All other purchasers, including WFCS Patrons, will be contacted by WFCS to choose preferred method of refund.
COME & SING WORKSHOP REFUNDS:
- If you booked with WFCS online, you will be contacted by TicketSource our booking agency, who will give a full refund minus any delivery charges paid. Please be aware that the refund for food orders may well be treated separately. If you opted to make an additional payment online in the event of cancellation you have separate conditions and should apply to the Insurance Company direct (see your booking confirmation for details). TicketSource and WFCS are unable to accept responsibility for this insurance.
- All other purchasers will be contacted by WFCS to choose preferred method of refund.
Ben continued: “Although we are incredibly disappointed not to be able to present these events concert as planned, we do hope that our next season will be unaffected and that lots of people will be able to come to our performance of Elgar’s choral masterpiece, Dream of Gerontius, on Saturday 14 November. There is also another Come & Sing choral workshop date for your diary: Saturday 10 April 2021, when there will be the chance to experience Brahms Ein Deutsches Requiem.
