Let Ralph Vaughan Williams's thrilling choral masterpiece A Sea Symphony take you on a ravishing musical voyage capturing the mighty power of the ocean, in this not-to-be-missed concert from the 150 voices of Worcester Festival Choral Society in the magnificent setting of Worcester Cathedral.

The concert includes two, early-20th century choral masterpieces by major English composers, both paying homage to the ocean and set to verses from Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass poetry collection.

A Sea Symphony, performed by WFCS in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Vaughan Williams's birth, is being staged by popular demand after the Society's originally-planned, sell-out 2020 performance of the work had to be cancelled at the start of the pandemic. Deepening the sea theme is Frederick Delius's richly evocative choral work, Sea Drift: a moving story of love and loss set against a seascape backdrop.

Performing with Worcester Festival Choral Society are internationally acclaimed soloists Sarah Fox (soprano) and Andrew Mayor (baritone); with the superb Meridian Sinfonia symphony orchestra accompanying. Conducting this exceptional concert will be Worcester Cathedral's director of music, Samuel Hudson. Join us to celebrate this wonderful music in grand choral style!

Soloists (both pictured):

   Sarah Fox (soprano)
   Andrew Mayor (baritone)
